Welcome to the HudsonSpider® Slider safety information page. Please thoroughly read, absorb and acknowledge all the information listed here before operating or handling your slider in any way.
The Slider can be dangerous if not used correctly. Some of the key thoughts to keep in mind when operating the slider.
When any of the brakes of the slider are unlocked, expect it to move, and it can move in many ways, potentially causing devastating damage if objects are placed in harms way.
Never unlock any brake on the Slider whilst the unit is not mounted and completely level.
Never move the slider base whilst any brakes are unlocked. If the shot requires for the mounting base and the slider to be on the ‘move’ during a take, exercise extreme caution when placing any body parts near or in any potential areas of danger.
Like with a loaded gun, never assume that the brakes are engaged. This means never put any body parts in a zone that could potentially be hazardous if the brake would unintentionally release.
There is a lot of weight potentially cantilevered away from the mount. Always test the mounting structure can handle at least double the cantillevered forces intended. Always have a safety cable or securing method that would catch the slider and whatever is mounted to it in case of some malfunction with the mounting system, whether to do with misuse or unexpected circumstances.
Never place humans or animals in a position of danger if the mounting system was to fail in any way and the safety mechanism was also to fail.
If you cut away the ‘REMOVE ONLY’ safety warning tag from the slider’s rail brakes, you MUST NOT allow anyone who has not officially acknowledged this Information (contained here on the “Slider Safety Information’ page) to interact with the Slider in any way..
